Hands-on areas of expertise
The equipment Henry works on, and what each kind of job actually involves.
Pool solar
Solar work covers the collectors on the roof and everything that serves them: the mounting and roof penetrations, the supply and return lines, and the controller and valve that send pool water up only when the roof is warmer than the water.
Pool heat pumps
A heat pump job means matching capacity to the pool, setting the unit level with the airflow clearance the manufacturer specifies, plumbing it in after the filter, then starting it up and confirming it heats.
Natural gas heaters
Gas heater work centers on the burner and its safety chain: a supply that can deliver the heater's full BTU input, venting and clearances per the installation manual, and the ignition, pressure and high-limit switches that shut it down when something is wrong.
Propane heaters
Propane heaters use the same burner technology on a different fuel, so the job adds the propane-specific heater model and the tank, regulator and line that have to keep up with its input.
Pool pumps
Pump work ranges from replacing a failed motor to fitting a variable-speed pump and setting its speeds and schedule so the filter, the heater and any solar all get the flow they need.
Automation
Automation ties heaters, pumps, valves and lights into one controller, so equipment runs on a schedule and can be controlled from the panel, or from a phone where the system supports it.
Salt systems
A salt chlorine generator needs its cell, control board and flow sensing working together, and a salt pool also changes which heat exchanger materials make sense in the heater.
Pool heating diagnostics
Finding out why a heater won't heat means working through water flow, sensors, pressure switches, error codes and the fuel or electrical supply until the actual fault turns up.
Equipment replacement
Replacing equipment means removing the old heater, pump or filter, fitting the new one to the existing pad and plumbing, and reworking the layout when the old pad no longer suits it.
Pool plumbing related to heating systems
Heating-system plumbing covers the supply and return lines to the heater, the bypass and check valves around it, and the valve layout that lets solar, a heater and the filter share one system.
