Moov Pool Heaters
Moov Pool Products builds inverter-driven electric pool heat pumps, plus pumps, salt systems, filters and robots, from a head office in Quebec City. Its two heat pump lines — Moov Inverter (MI500 through MI1400, 45,500 to 134,000 BTU/hr) and TurboSilence — use variable-speed compressors and titanium heat exchangers, and carry the same published warranty across the line: 3 years labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger. The trade-off is a smaller installed base and service network than the big pro-channel brands.
Moov is one of the newer names a Florida pool owner is likely to be shown, and it arrives from a different direction than Hayward or Pentair. Moov Pool Products, which the owner's manual lists alongside Moov Sales Agency with a head office in Quebec City, sells a full pool catalog — inverter pumps, heat pumps, salt systems, filters, lighting and robots — built around variable-speed technology rather than around a legacy equipment line.
The heat pumps come in two families. The Moov Inverter line runs MI500, MI650X, MI900, MI1100 and MI1400, with published capacities of 45,500, 61,500, 82,000, 108,000 and 134,000 BTU/hr; Moov states its FIC line shares the same characteristics with a cooling option added, and the owner's manual is written for MI(C) variants. Above it sits TurboSilence — MTS50 through MTS140, 47,500 to 133,000 BTU/hr — which Moov positions as its quietest platform, claiming as low as 41 dB at 3 meters and a compressor that modulates between 20% and 120%.
What Moov is known for is the inverter argument, and it is a real one. A fixed-speed heat pump only knows how to run flat out, so on a mild day it satisfies the setpoint and shuts off; a modulating compressor can run slowly for hours, which is quieter and more efficient at the light loads that make up most of a pool heating season. Moov's own efficiency claim — a COP that is "on average 8 instead of 4 or 5" on the Inverter line, and an average of 12 on TurboSilence — is an average across the speed range rather than a rating at the industry test point, so it should not be compared directly against a competitor's published 80/80/80 COP. The manual does carry AHRI Certified and CSA marks.
For Florida specifically, the part-load argument lands well: our heating season is long, mild and humid, which is exactly where a modulating compressor spends its time. The titanium exchanger suits salt pools, and the published warranty is 3 years labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the exchanger, identical across the line. The caution is ownership rather than engineering: fewer Gulf Coast technicians have worked on a Moov than on the established pro-channel brands, and the manual routes every warranty claim through an authorized Moov employee. That makes the local service path the first question to ask, not the last.

What Moov builds
Moov Inverter (MI Series)
Electric heat pumpMI500, MI650X, MI900, MI1100 and MI1400 — 45,500 to 134,000 BTU/hr on 208-230V single phase, with breakers from 20 A to 50 A, a titanium heat exchanger, a dual rotary DC compressor modulating from 20% to 100%, and 50 dB(A) or less at 10 feet.
Moov FIC (heat and cool)
Electric heat pumpMoov states the FIC line "has the same characteristics as the MI models, but has the cooling option". The owner's manual covers MI(C) variants, so a heat-and-chill unit has to be specified by its own model number rather than added later.
Moov TurboSilence (MTS Series)
Electric heat pumpMTS50 47,500 BTU/hr through MTS140 133,000 BTU/hr, with the same 3/5/10 warranty. Moov positions it as the quietest option, claiming as low as 41 dB at 3 meters and compressor modulation from 20% to 120%.

What we like
- The published warranty is identical across the line: 3 years labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger.
- Every heat pump in the range uses a titanium heat exchanger, which is the correct material for salt pools and coastal Florida air, and it is standard rather than an upgrade.
- Inverter compressors are a genuine efficiency advantage at the light loads that make up most of a Florida heating season, because the unit can run slowly and continuously instead of cycling.
- It is quiet by specification, not just by claim: the owner's manual lists 50 dB(A) or less at 10 feet for every Inverter model, and TurboSilence is rated lower still. Moov's marketing figures need reading carefully, though — its Full-Inverter technology page publishes "up to 48dB at 1m when the unit is operating at 50%" while its Inverter product page prints the same 48 dB at 3 m, so take the manual's 50 dB(A) at 10 ft as the number to plan a pad around.
- Soft-start control keeps the electrical requirement modest for the output — 30 A at 208-230V for the 82,000 BTU/hr MI900 — which can matter on an older Florida panel.
- The line covers small pools to large ones (45,500 to 134,000 BTU/hr) on one platform, so the controls and the service parts are consistent across sizes.
What to know before buying
- Service network and parts depth are the real question with this brand. The head office is in Quebec City, warranty claims must be approved by an authorized Moov employee, and far fewer Gulf Coast technicians have worked on a Moov than on Hayward, Pentair, Jandy or Raypak equipment. Confirm in writing who will perform warranty labor locally.
- The efficiency claims are averages, not ratings. "On average 8" for the Inverter line and "on average 12" for TurboSilence are figures across the compressor's speed range; they cannot be set beside a competitor's COP at 80°F air / 80°F water / 80% RH without that caveat.
- Capacity is advertised inconsistently, and Moov itself is part of the reason. Its product page lists the MI900 at 82,000 BTU/hr while its own Full-Inverter technology page calls the same units the "90k, 110k et 140k models", which is where the retail channel's 90K BTU naming comes from. Size from the published 82,000 BTU/hr figure, and check that the model number, the capacity and the sizing calculation on your quote all agree.
- Heat and cool is a separate model. The MI units are heating-only; the cooling option lives in the FIC line and has to be specified up front.
- Moov publishes less supporting documentation than the legacy brands — no public per-model AHRI test-point table, and limited detail on cabinet construction — so more of the comparison rests on the warranty and the installer's experience.
Moov questions
Is a Moov inverter heat pump actually more efficient than a standard one?
At light loads, yes — that is what modulation buys you. A fixed-speed unit runs flat out and shuts off; an inverter can run at 20% for hours, which is quieter and uses less energy to hold a temperature. What you cannot do is compare Moov's advertised average COP to a competitor's rated figure at the 80/80/80 test point, because they are measuring different things.
What warranty do Moov heat pumps carry?
Moov publishes 3 years labor, 5 years parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger across its Inverter and TurboSilence lines. The manual adds the conditions: coverage begins at purchase, applies to the first installation only, and every claim must be approved by an authorized Moov Pool Products employee. Damage from improper winterization, storm events or installation by an unqualified technician is excluded.
Can a Moov heat pump cool the pool as well?
Not the MI models. Moov states that its FIC line shares the MI specification and adds a cooling option, and the owner's manual is written for MI(C) variants, so heat-and-chill has to be ordered as its own model.
Are Moov heat pumps suitable for salt water pools?
The heat exchanger is titanium, which is what you want on a salt pool. The plumbing order matters just as much: the salt cell or chlorinator has to be the last thing before the water returns to the pool, so chlorinated water is never pushed back through the exchanger.
