Thermeau Pool Heaters
Thermeau Industries builds electric pool heat pumps in two residential lines: Signature (S65 to S140B, heating only, 2 years labor and 7 years parts) and Prestige (TH65 to TH140B, with a cooling mode on every model but the TH140B, 5 years labor and parts). Both span 64,000 to 133,000 BTU/hr, use a twisted titanium tube exchanger with 10-year corrosion protection, and publish full performance data at three test conditions. The U.S. office is in Apopka, Florida; the factory is Canadian.
Thermeau started in 2001 and moved into pool heating in stages — a commercial heater line in 2011, an in-house thermodynamics laboratory in 2012, and residential heat pumps from 2014. The company is family-run, its factory is Canadian, and its U.S. operation works from 126 Semoran Commerce Place in Apopka, Florida, which is where American service and warranty enquiries are handled.
The residential catalog is two parallel lines built on the same platform. Signature — S65, S85, S105, S125 and S140B — heats only, uses air defrost, and carries 2 years on labor with 7 years on parts. Prestige — TH65, TH85, TH105, TH125 and TH140B — adds a cooling mode on every model except the TH140B and hot-gas reversible defrost that gets the unit back to heating in about two minutes, and carries 5 years on labor and 5 years on parts. Both lines share the 10-year corrosion warranty on the titanium heat exchanger, the same 39 x 33 x 34 inch cabinet, a Copeland Scroll compressor and R-410A.
What sets Thermeau apart on paper is the disclosure. Every model is published at three test conditions — 80°F air with 80% relative humidity, 80°F air with 63%, and 50°F air with 63% — with both capacity and COP at each, plus running load amps, minimum circuit ampacity, maximum overcurrent protection and weight. The 50°F column is the honest one and Thermeau prints it: every model rates 4.0 COP there, against 5.5 to 6.3 at the 80/80/80 point. That makes the range unusually easy to compare against competitors who publish only their best number.
For a Florida buyer the Prestige cooling mode is the obvious draw, along with the titanium exchanger for salt pools. The considerations are equally clear: Thermeau publishes no app, no Wi-Fi and no automation integration for the residential lines, and its dealer network on Florida's Gulf Coast is thinner than Hayward, Pentair or Jandy. A five-year labor warranty is only worth what a nearby dealer can deliver, so the servicing dealer's name belongs on the quote alongside the model number.

What Thermeau builds
Signature
Electric heat pumpS65, S85, S105, S125 and S140B — 64,000 to 133,000 BTU/hr at 80/80/80 with COP from 5.5 to 6.3, heating only, air defrost, twisted titanium tube exchanger. Warranty: 2 years labor, 7 years parts, 10-year corrosion protection on the exchanger.
Prestige
Electric heat pumpTH65, TH85, TH105, TH125 and TH140B — the same capacities plus a cooling mode on every model except the TH140B and hot-gas reversible defrost. Warranty: 5 years labor, 5 years parts, 10-year corrosion protection on the exchanger.

What we like
- Full published performance data for every model at three test conditions, including 4.0 COP at 50°F air — the number that actually predicts behavior during a Gulf Coast cold front.
- Long warranties on both lines, and Thermeau states they apply automatically without registration: keep the invoice. Prestige is 5 years labor and parts; Signature is 7 years parts.
- A twisted titanium tube exchanger in a PVC shell, described as resistant to pool and spa chemicals, with 10-year corrosion protection — the right specification for a salt pool.
- Prestige models offer a cooling mode, which is a Florida feature rather than a northern one, and hot-gas reversible defrost that restores heating in about two minutes.
- Copeland Scroll compressors and R-410A throughout, with triple sound insulation and one cabinet size across the entire residential range, which keeps retrofit planning simple.
- Support is structured rather than anonymous: Thermeau says it triages by phone and dispatches a qualified technician if the problem persists, from a U.S. office in Apopka, Florida.
What to know before buying
- Service access is the brand's main risk on the Gulf Coast. There is a U.S. office in Florida, but dealer density here is lower than the big pro-channel brands, and a long labor warranty is only useful if someone nearby honours it. Get the servicing dealer's name before you buy.
- No app, no Wi-Fi and no published integration with Pentair, Hayward or Jandy automation. The control is a good self-diagnosing thermostat and nothing more.
- The 10-year figure is corrosion protection on the heat exchanger, not ten years of parts and labor. Read the three coverages separately.
- Electrical requirements are on the high side: 32.1 A running load and a 42.5 A minimum circuit ampacity with 70 A maximum overcurrent protection on the TH125 and TH140B.
- Capacity and efficiency do not rise together across the line — the TH140B is the largest model at 133,000 BTU/hr and publishes a 6.0 COP while the TH125 below it publishes 5.5 — and the TH140B is the one Prestige model with no cooling mode.
Thermeau questions
Signature or Prestige — which one should I buy?
Prestige if you want the cooling mode, hot-gas reversible defrost and five years of labor coverage. Signature if you only ever need heat and would rather have seven years of parts coverage. Capacities, cabinet, compressor and the 10-year exchanger corrosion term are the same either way.
Where is Thermeau based?
The company's U.S. address is 126 Semoran Commerce Place, Apopka, Florida, and its about page describes a Canadian-based factory; the owner's manual is marked printed in Canada. Thermeau has been in business since 2001 and has built residential pool heat pumps since 2014.
Do I have to register a Thermeau warranty?
Thermeau's support page states the warranty applies automatically when you purchase one of its products, with no registration needed — you simply keep the invoice. It also says the company tries to resolve problems by phone before dispatching a qualified technician.
Can a Thermeau heat pump cool the pool?
The Prestige line has a cooling mode on every model except the TH140B. The Signature line is heating only. If you want heat and chill, the model number has to be a Prestige and not the largest one.
